This is only being talked about for a Marathon tournament and not an option for ranked games.
If the Marathon matches were first to 75, for example, you could keep the weighting ratio exactly as it is now with minimal damage to the integrity of the ranking table.
Your response to the Power Snooker question was in answer to different weighting for different length games, as far as I can see, which as you say would favour someone playing the higher ratio games over the lower ratio games. Apologies if I have missed something here.

But changing it to first to 75 will increase the game length without doubt. So in essence my point still stands there. You just can not have the weighting the same when the game is so much longer.

example -
arcade - shortest type so lowest ranking
regular - next shortest so medium ranking
original - longest (other than power/killer) so high ranking
rank gets bigger as the game length gets longer

We will have to disagree there then just in respect of these longer length matches happening in one Straight Marathon tournament per day.
Anyone taking in part in such a tournament would achieve no advantage in comparison to any other Straight tournament and likewise no disadvantage either.
This is Pool not Snooker luckily. That doesn't apply here.

kinda does though because 1st to 200 would be definately longer than first to 25. etc
can you see our point?

Honestly? In the strictest terms of what this thread is about? No.

I don't how it doesn't apply?
So if a game was first to 35 and another first to 200. In either case you would win the same amount of ranking points? That's just simply wrong, it can't simply work like that.

You are not explaining why though - again in the strictest terms of what this thread is about - ie a possible one Straight Marathon tournament per day where each game was first to, say, 60.

heres what i think about whole tournament ranking...
Speed - Current non tournament ranking
Normal - Double Speed
Marathon - Speed x3 or Normal x2
possible?
shame you cant calculate an overall match ranking instead of after each game.

Extending a game length brings whole new challenges to the game. But basically the game length is a lot longer, which in turn should bring more ranking points as it is the same game.
It also doesn't matter if it's one tournament or 20 anyway, the point is that the only way to have different amount of points to achieve victory in turn requires a whole new ranking system just for that particular one.

OK as before then - there is nothing that actually challenges the integrity of the ranking table.
There would be no advantage to be gained from solely playing Marathon tournaments and no disadvantage to be suffered.
Yes they would favour the better player in terms of winning them but, as I have already said, that is exactly the same as any other Marathon tournament.

Apart from the fact that if you just stuck to the first to 35 games, it would be quicker to get your rank up compared to first to 100 lets say.
For friendlies, then yes there would be no problem at all. Just put first to 2 frames instead of one longer then it's a simpler solution which is a lot easier to work with, and actually won't take much longer (if it does at all)

Again we are talking about one tournament - not a ranked game option.
That's missing the attraction of the longer single Marathon game in terms of making it a more interesting and competetive alternative - particularly to 'Straight' players.

That is irrelevant if this one tournament is ranked though. If it's a friendly one then my point is totally irrelevant (I agree we could trial with a friendly type though)

I'm one of the biggest straight players on here (albeit not on here too often) and to be honest I don't see the real big attraction to it. Yes it would be nice to see, but I don't think it makes things more interesting in my eyes.

It isn't irrelevant since with double points for tournaments sticking to first to 35 ranked games will not get your rank up noticably quicker than winning a first to 75 Marathon tournament game. Similarly neither will sticking to normal Straight tournaments as the available score will be the same in both.
If you think it would be nice to see then surely there must be attraction to it? Cartainly there is to a few posting here. And certainly there is more attraction to that than there is to the Friendly tournaments which people asked for but never play.
A Straight Marathon swapped in for the Straight Friendly, and with no restrictions on entry would be good.
