In my view, it means total agreement with that post/comment.
*like that comment*

But you're not sharing your opinion, you're just clicking a generic button.
It's *why* people like or dislike a post that matters. Without that explaination it is meaningless.

When something is suggested on this part of the forum, clicking *like* is not voicing your opinion. People would like to know why you like it.

What if someone's already said what I was thinking of, surely liking their comment would be better than repeating what he said?

Perfect example right now...I agree with what kev says, as did master_p00l did with my last comment (see top of this page).
so instead of quoting and saying 'like that comment' or me just saying exactly the same thing as Kev but with different words, wouldnt it be easier to just click a like button? it reduces clutter and congestion on the forum as well.
Matt doesnt say why he *likes* what I said, it is clear that he is in general agreement with what I said.
Those who want to add to the suggestion or elaborate will still do it as it normally happens now.

Valid points dont get me wrong, but the arguments this would cause is my main concern(my post on previous page).
Not to forget, I am pretty sure this would not be a priority to Nick, and probably never will. (we shall see)

You should've liked his comment
Saves quoting his post and putting a pretty irrelevant comment there

A bit like you do with "reply" just now.
I think my point is being proven - if you are just going to click "like" but don't have anything to add, then it means nothing.
Why not tell everyone *why* you are in complete agreement
