Just needed to log out after first tourney game in 8uk speed tourney due to terrible lag......
was only off the server for around 30sec - 1min and when I logged back in I found out the invites had been sent and I had been DQ'd.
other players however that remained on the server still had their invites showing as all game rooms were not full....
surely we can have a system that logged out players get the same invite response time as those still connected meaning that if you are logged out, you get a chance to log back in again.....
really frustrating

I'm afraid you have to be logged into the game to receive your invite. If you aren't, you will be disqualified.
However, if you are in game to receive your invite, then log out, you have a few minutes to open the game window to retrieve your invite.
Not so long ago, you weren't so much as given a second chance after logging out, and I don't think it will be changed so that you can get invites when you are 'browsing' the site, as I feel the amount of non attendances will increase hugely.

Personally, I think its just an unlucky occurance and cannot see this happening that often.
It's unfortunate that you missed out on the tournament emily but I don't think that changes are needed to how the current system works. Maybe if this happens another time, wait for the invite, then reset your window and the invite should stay there as long as you can get back in time to take it

From the thread on snooker:
nick said:
You certainly must be logged in when the draw is made, the code deliberately kicks out people that aren't logged in at that point.
Consider a tournament with 65 people, probably there are a few people who have logged out (for whatever reason) since joining. We don't want all the users to have to wait around needlessly, so these logged out users are drawn deliberately as away players for the first ties.
With tournaments being ranked and single match losses applied to forfeits there are fewer drop outs, so maybe this can be looked at, but even if it is changed, you would still have to be online for pretty much the entire tournament time.

This has just happened to me now, was browsing when the draw was done, logged onto the game server to play and found I'd been disqualified.
If you're able to join while browsing surely you should be allowed in when you log on, pretty ridiculous to lose points to some low ranker for nothing
