I am now an annoyed person, I entered a ranked tournament BUT was unable to play as I was in another tournament, and now I have LOST 5.5 and PRO status because of a NO Show.

This is an absolute shocking update, I may leave the site for this absurd decision. You don't play, you lose, what a JOKE

And if this is an update, there should be a WARNING when entering the tournament, I want my pro rank back now, I am willing to play but this is absurd.

Could have pulled out of the tourny if you couldn't make it It does seem a bit unfair, but if it helps decrease the amount of no shows then the new rule doesn't really bother me.

Exactly, if you change your mind about a tournament then pull out. Simple.

The fact is, if someone is not there then the opponent has always got a win. Nothing has changed except the games are now ranked (in ranked tourneys, obviously)

dry yer eyes.......i rem sayin about this because no shows had no repercussions. in my opinion you enter a tournament to play in it. entering a tourny 'not to play' is crap.

i've sat waitin for opponents to turn up in many's a tourny and i personally find it annoyin when they don't turn up.

if u enter a rank tourny then do it because you are definitely going to play, otherwise........DON'T ENTER

You have the option to withdraw from a tournie before round 1 starts - click on the tournie page that you have entered and click the leave button. This will withdraw you from the tournament. Apart from that I agree with Hippes....very annoying when your opponent doesn't show up and doesnt even have the courtesy to tell you.......

Dont enter two tournaments at the same time, then you wont lose points

To be honest, may have over-reacted but I still think there should be a warning when you enter a ranked tournament saying it is a ranked tournament and if you don't accept the invite, then you will LOSE rank.

But still, suggestion is to warn people about losing a match/rank if you don't show.

I could add a confirmation prompt (similar to leaving a game) before you can enter a tournament as not everyone reads the forums.

Note the abandoned stat is no longer added.

How about if there was a general announcement either at the same time as, or after, the 'two minute till tournmament start' warning announcement to remind of the 'leave' option for anyone that might need it?

*clicks join*
If you wish to withdraw press...leave?

Yes - in addition to the confirmation prompt Nick mentioned above at entry. Just on the basis your circumstances could change in the 10 minutes between you joining and the tournament actually starting.

You dont need a confirmation to join - just spread the word as much as possible that there is a leave the tourny option prior to commencement of round one. People will soon catch on.....
