Does anyone know how to solve or improve constant 'connection failing'? This has worsened from being very occasional a few weeks ago, to near permanent at the moment. Internet connection 'seems' fine, when connection is failing I can still browse and change other websites without issue, saying to me that int connection is still live and uniterupted, though am no techy.

Running an imac, so reinstalling java is not an option, have ensured have the latest up to date version already. Also have 1000mb Java storage as Nick mentioned in another post.

Any help appreciated as this is driving me up the wall, apologies to those I have played whilst this has been happening (specially al in 9 ball marathon final), nicely described as excrutiating

The first 2 posts here are related to the hardware problems detailed here: http://www.funkypool.com/thread/17177/downtime-31st-october-and-4th-november-restarts

The hardware change completed yesterday 1pm (UK time). Since then there has been no outage or problems (uptime has been 100% as far as I can see), and if you look at recent tournaments you'll see all of them completed successfully with no greater than usual number of disqualifications.

You have been logged out, either your internet connection has gone down, is too busy or a network fault has occurred.

After a week or so of seamless connection, the dreaded has returned
Wonder does this now relate to the message at login , along the lines of your pc does not have the correct version of Java installed?
Macs being macs kindly give you no option of choosing which version of java you want (from java.com), only when apple see fit they give an upgrade through the macs inbuilt software update.
So could the issue now be java?, if so any genius' out there who knows how to select a preferred java version for a mac??
Cheers..

Doubt it has anything to do with the Java message, I got that message today and my connection was fine for the 2 hours that I was online. Quite a bit of lag though :(

Java 1.6 should be available for Mac?
http://www.ehow.com/how_6218153_download-java-1_6-mac.html

http://download.cnet.com/Apple-Java-Update-OS-X/3000-2213_4-10842013.html

If you run into problems please let me know. I don't have a Mac to test on, so I can't really help that much.

Hi,
Thx 4 the replies.
Running 10.5.8, safari 5.02, herein may lie the issue?? Java 1.6 is only for mac 10.6+ (thx 4 the links Nick).
Maybe I should look to swap the imac for a newer version??

Spinner, I'm no whizz, if you can call what the prob is much appreciated

Great. Please let me know how you get on. As said before I don't have a Mac so I can't test but I will look into any reported problems.

Jimfaebod, it's a particular update of Mac's operating system.
