You seem to be getting these exceptionally often Jim. Do you have any conections in the house without an ASDL filter? Or perhaps a spare one to try?

Failing that I would suggest contacting your ISP who should be able to see your connection problems and suggest a fix, at the very least you can insist they run a line test.

The livebox and telephone line both have adsl filters on...

It is getting beyond a joke the amount of times that I am having this problem..

You have been logged out, either your internet connection has gone down, is too busy or a network fault has occurred.

What about swopping the adsl filters around from the existing connections

in which case i dont think it is the provider - it is just being to far away from the exchange - worth asking BT if they have any solutions

First suggestion would be to disconnect everything except the computer, then start playing. Every now and then, plug the other things back in one by one.

For some reason people often forget to put a filter on the Sky box connection, do you have one on there?

And don't worry about your speed, thats about average for up here too, and people can still play perfectly well on old fashioned 56k dialup.

Orange, however, I have heard poor stories about regarding reliabilty and customer service. I'm not sure where you are, but I am guessing you, like us, probably have a BT line. You can try rining BT and asking them to do a line check, even though your provider is Orange, they will have the line leased from BT.

For maintaing connection it is the line quality that matters, more than the speed.

The only other thing I'll add is that is also check you don't have anything (or anyone) else hogging your bandwidth. Some programmes may download updates, or downloading torrents etc. Also check no one else is using your internet (with or without your knowledge) and hogging your connection.

Was in touch with supplier and they ifnormed me to move the livebox and connect it to the main phone in line of the house. No one had previously mentioned this before...

Hopefully this has resolved my connection failings as it is costing me in the games that I am losing through no fault of my own...

Havent been disconnected so far so heres hoping!!!

That *could* make a huge difference. The shorter the connection between your main phone socket and the router/homehub/livebox or whatever the better.

Good luck
