^^ Depends on your interpetation. I like 5 sec games as they eliminate the hit n hopers and the people who slowly work out every angle with protractors on the screen, and make everyone rely on pure skill, thus levelling out the playing field.

Doesn't eliminate hit n hopers in my opinion - creates more from people who wouldn't be (hit and hopers dont take their time shooting - its about compulsive hitting so it makes sense that they'd do it more with low time limit)

5 seconds - players wont think about the shots - just whack every shot - especially in 9 ball, most players would just go for 9 ball

But those players will be knocked out in the early rounds. You can play a high quality game in 5 seconds but you need complete concentration as well as speed. This takes some practice for the slightly slower-paced players like me.

Well can we have a longer time limit than 30 seconds?

like i (and i know theres quite a few people like me) prefer to play on 90 seconds

so something longer (even tournys with higher amount of games - super marathon in onua's terms) would be nice if players who like short clocks get their games

Tournys with time limit longer than 30 secs wouldn't work 'imo' there's not enough hours in the day if everyone took their full time every shot

Its the shot time thats meant by speed and superspeed so why not a race to 2 or 3 frames of 10 secs and 5 secs. That would take out any flukes.

Hey Nick I would love to see a "Super Marathon Tourney".

i.e from Round 1 - Quarters could possibly be first to 5.

Semis First to 6

Finals first to 7

Would be a great thing to see and I'm sure others would enjoy seeing this as well.

No need to replace any tourneys, just have an addition to the schedule

personally in 5 second games you have to think before it is your shot, literally as opponent is taking theirs.

i made 3 50s in 4 frames of Arcade doing this.

you have like a second for spin and 2 seconds to shoot and 2 seconds to place cursor, i like to rush my shots (advantage) but i like to browse when its opponents shot too (disadvantage).

but this will only greaten flukes if you did not plan ahead.

on the otherhand its great fun and one 5 second tournament can't hurt anyone.

about super marathons another ok idea for people who like to take their time like destiny, the rounds are too long there but as long as there is only one being implemented for time being i cannot see a problem.

but 5 second games gives no room for any lag whatsoever

9 ball speeds dont take long so a 5 second torny could be put after one of them on the half hour mark maybe ?????

whatever you do dont take out straight tornys not enough as it is

better idea add (not replace) a 5 second straight torny

No harm in adding the odd one in. Won't be good for some players but it doesn't hurt being there does it.



You can easily cut that time down.

quickest ive shot is 3 seconds i think but kudos 120 in 2.5 seconds a shot is great going

The thing is, with 5 seconds there isnt time to hit n hope, you simply have to plan several shots ahead and play accurately or you will end up lost.

I like the intense concentration it requires. In slow games i get bored and distracted and my game suffers.

It's purely a personal preference in many respects, but to say one style requires more skill than another is wrong.
