i don't know if this has ever been spoken about, forgive me if it has...

shouldn't there be something on each players profile saying how many times they have reset their stats and when the most recent reset was?

maybe this would discourange people from doing it and playing as a "newbie"... or alternativly instead of putting "newbie" or "adept" in their brackets, simply put them in as "reset" ?

Thoughts and comments welcomed

cheers, wasnt sure if it had been mentioned before atall so was a bit of a stab in the dark... just annoys me how stats can be reset and people come up as "newbie"...

i have no problem with people starting again stat wise... think its a great feature, but other players should be aware of this as the player could have been 750 or something before...

think it has been mentioned before, and its the same principle for me, dont like playing a fake newbie - check their record or stats, too lazy? your loss.

I find it more intresting playing reset newbies cos you know they'll reset once you hammer em 5-0 when they're 25/25 wins so far

Thing is i would be on infinite by now lmao.

I usually just reset when i play bad and get annoyed lol win/losses dont really matter aslong as im the high end of win %. But it's understandable as i dont play newbies or low ranked players.

im happy to check stats, and i do.... not lazy atall.... just think its something that should be done to be honest. don't see why the problem can't just be sorted by giving them a different tag other than newbie, because that isn't what they are...

giving them the tag that they are worthy of should mean you give them the stats they already got if you want them to stand out. People reset just because they like to and so they dont take it seriously so why bother about it end of the day it doesn't really matter.

I think Newbie tags should only be given to people who are new to funkypool.

I think that when you reset the tags should be intermediate, adept, pro ect. So when you reset you start off at intermediate.

That way it would easy to tell real newbies and fake newbies apart.

Example: A real newbies stats would read as Newbie, played 20 games. Whereas some1 who has reset would have their stats as Adept, played 20 games.

so the newbie system would not count with resetters then?

That's correct James. Just my opinion though

Don't see why good players who reset should be given the same tag as someone who just signed up this morning.

I dont really care what they do with reset aslong as the option is there to start my stats again. Some people like the challenge of getting previous stats back. Either that or deactivate and i used to do that a lot more than reset aswel.

I think if you reset it should only reset your points, tags like newbie, pro etc should remain on your profile, yes it will show some people as played nil or 1 as a pro but that will show they have reset.

That would be easily counteracted by lowering your stats to intermediate so that you seem like a newbie... Unless however the max rank remained rather than the title..

Not a bad idea.

On the other hand some players tend to put their previous stats in their 'About Me' section.

Keeping the maximum rank for each format is a great idea.

This topic came up the other day in another forum on here. If you reset instead of being a newbie why not a name such as "pacco" (previous account) or "racco" (reset account) or "macco" (many accounts) or similar.....
