All at the same time...People were moaning just need a answer why this happens im just poor with computers..

More than likely that was a fault with one of the major ISP's or infrastructure providers.

When people stop responding it means something as interrupted their connection to the funkypool server, this can be anything from a dodgy connection between computer and modem to a digger digging up a cable, or a major failure at an ISP.

If possible, the conection will be re-routed some other way, so some people may begin responding again, others may time out.

One of those things that happen rare, but is very common in small instances - if you sit in the chatroom you'll see alot less stop responding then there was years ago, but it's a problem that's harder to fix then most.

This also happened to me at the time (it was around the same time) but logged me and another person I was speaking to off completely. I was still on msn and was able to load up other sites, including snooker-it was just the FP server that I couldn't connect to. Didn't last much longer than a couple of minutes, but I thought it odd that if it was an ISP problem, it only affected the FP server (unless I'm being daft and it was something different).

EDIT: I've just realised, the timing was different, it was around an hour or two earlier than the aforementioned (big word!) problem.

^^ It only has to be one link between the server and your computer thats gets broken. You're right that is it were your ISP failing completely, you would lose connection to everything. Likewise, if it were a local problem at the server end, everyone would stop reasponding and/or be logged out.

Suppose the easiest way is to compare the net to a road network. If the you're in Leeds and the M1 gets closed outside London, you're only cut off from London, and only untill you find another way.
