Following dnbimagine's failure to complete his games (or log on since Monday night) and cannibal's withdrawal from the competition, _k1rk_ remains as group winner while marksmith gets a reprieve and finds himself in the quarter-finals. The draw took place at the link mentioned in the previous post, and here's what happened:

Knockout format
All matches in the knockout phase (quarter-finals, semi-finals and final) will be played as best of 9 frames, with 3 frames of each of the common pool game types (as opposed to 2 of each in the group stage). Players can play on when one of them reaches 5 frames, or they can call a halt, I don't care. There's no more need for updates on my profile; any relevant information will reside here on this thread. The semi-final draw will be an open draw.

All players will be messaged with who they have to play. We'll look at this again early next week and see how we're going in terms of progress.

Terrible games really especially at the start, i kept getting unlucky or playing bad and he was pretty tight to begin with so it was out of my hands. He was very unlucky in 9 ball and in uk i got ahead and messed about when i won so really was 6-3 but i was showing off lol.

Just to update you guys on this, I won't be around for a few days next week. However, there's just one quarter-final left, and all that needs doing (apart from that game) is the semi-final draw. Once that happens, the competition will (or should) be able to run to a conclusion with no further action from me.

The semi-final draw will take place at http://www.chatzy.com/193956803689 at half-time in the Champions League games tonight (I hope), and the names in the hat will be bumble37/no_talking, al_, _k1rk_, and apples_back. The format for the semi-finals and final will be the same as for the quarter-finals.

if you had an even number of games you could have a "penalty shoot out style" 1 frame of 9 ball takes all to get into next round - maybe save that for the final tho......

Nice idea... won't be doing it this time though, sorry But it's one for the future I think!
