The rationale behind looking also at the activity before the game started is simply that it says something about who did the most to make the game take place at an earlier time - in which case the default might not have happened at all, both since the game might not been aborted at all, but also since there would been more left of the fixture to get it completed.
In this case it is pretty blatant the player left and deactivated from playing bad/losing tho, in which case I completed agree 15-0 would be fair.
