Could we please have friendly games recorded to the results page for the players involved?
(just like it currently works for ranked games)
For the first time as far as I know, we have issues with players disputing scores after having played league games, and currently the league hosts have no tools for handling this what so ever, short of actually having observers watch the games as they happen.
I realize Nick spends his time on other projects these days, but this shouldn't be a big deal to implement I believe.
Our only other option is to make all league games ranked, but I fear that will push away even more players from taking part in the leagues

Its a good idea to have this, personally i copy the result at end of what ever game type and only use it if a score is being questioned. ( even then the score can be changed by simple delete a few off your oppenant and add to yours lol )

RESULT: 8 Ball Pool UK Friendly - _flawless_ (1) loses to kevross (5) with 1 ball remaining
you mean like this?
but yea I've always wondered why they're not recorded and it would eradicate any squabbles about someone saying someone else is/was lying

This used to crop up occasionally when individual leagues were popular, but there was usually a backlash to recording everything from those who want to play friendlies without any records.
At the time a proposal was made for another game type (league), identical to friendly but for which a history was recorded, thus removing the need to record the result of the many friendlies played outside the leagues.
With the improved game selection options we have now, it might also be attractive to people to be able to filter for, and watch, league games.

That would be excellent Dave, can you go nudge Nick for us please?
And so we can better plan the way forward for our league, it would be great if we could have some feedback fairly soon on when, or if at all we can expect something like that implemented.
Copying the Friendly "spam" like some have suggested is unfortunately not a solution, since you 1) need to be there to see the spam in game when it happens, and 2) it can just as easily be falsified.

Only real way of proving is to take a screenshot of the result

Screenshots can almost as easily falsified as copying the text
recording the game would be much harder to edit (i think would have to be done frame by frame)

Not as easy as the text and it'd take a lot longer, not really worth all the effort really if you want to cheat

Even if it's harder, it's far from difficult, so this far we have not accepted screenshots as evidence of any kind.
Fortunately though, result disputes have been virtually non-existent this far - the more common issue can be people simply forgetting.... If something comes up right as the game is over and the result is not posted on forums.... two weeks later, what was the score?
Easy mistake to make, and any system that would make that problem obsolete would be a great step forward.

Yes i did say almost as easy, not just as easy
Anybody competent with the paint programme could change it to be unnoticeable in about 3 minutes, no real effort needed
which is why rightly screenshot aren't accepted

I only play friendlies these days because I'm lazy (and I like my 800's )
I'd like to be able to keep track of my results though, just for reference purposes.

Me too Rogan.
And while I understand Dave's point that some players may be opposed to having their scores recorded on the site, this is technically a moot point since you cannot choose to avoid in-game players seeing your scores anyway - which they in turn can build a database upon.
I don't really see a problem with cataloging data that is public domain in the first place.

I like the idea, but results recorded from playing guests may become a problem, as guest(123) may be recorded onto someone's stats, and then someone else may be under guest(123) at a later stage, for instance.

It should be straight forward to filter this recording based on one or more players being guests. There are already a number of differences throughout the site between regular and guest users, so can't imagine that being hard to implement.
It's a good point though, guest games should probably not be recorded (seems pretty pointless at least)
The option for whether or not a user wants their results recorded is a good one, then again it raises some interesting questions as to what happens when a game is played between a player who has it toggled on and a player with this off.
In either case we would of course just make it mandatory for league players - no problem there.

I propose (if no-one's already done so) that the option to have the game recorded be done when the game room is created. In this way, casual friendlies would continue to be unrecorded (unless the game room creator wanted it that way...!) whereas clan games or games in other forum events would appear because the game room creator ticked (or otherwise chose) that option.
