Nice work Jerry and Gentle... It' the way to go...

3 foul rule......... It's called a rule for a reason...an opportunity for all players and it's known by 100% of anyone if they played 9 ball at all. A stong safety can be a much harder shot than just pocketing a ball.

If anyone wants to know how 9 ball was played before the 3 foul rule and why it was incorporated in the 1st place. I can tell you from 1961 to the present date, which is how long I been playing this game for the cash. I will tell all.

like ucy says the 3 foul rule is there for a reason. Its never really my first thought, but if there is no pot on then of course you have to play safe / go for the snookers.

if theres a pot obviously i dont go for the snook, unless my opponents had 2 consec fouls. you have to be a good player to get 3 snooks without fluking any of them. its part fo the game we have to live with and the safety play is as important as the potting in my opinion

Seems an odd way to play 9 ball to me , to start out a set of 5 games with every intention to win by foul in all games is unsporting in my eyes , but Hey Ho its funky pool and we can all play it as we see fit

my intention wasn't to win by 3 consec fouls in all the games, but when i see an opportunity for a decent snook, especially after my opponent has fouled, it's just smart to go for - y'know, tactics lol

"unsporting" suggests bad sportsmanship and/or an element of unfairness, which playing snooks in 9 is neither of. everyone has equal opportunity (with the exception of luck) to play for snooks in 9, and as it has been said before, it can be very difficult to pull off three decent snookers in a row to get the game - which i was only able to do once to ya. really, the snooker aspect in 9 adds another element of skill to the game

we're all entitled to to play the game the way we like though - within the rules. i just see it as a tad "unsporting" when you have a go at someone for doing this as ya say, it's funkypool and we can all play as we see fit
