but in a league its perfectly within his right to leave and play another time and defaults arent awarded until the deadline has passed.

It is a cup match - you don't stop playing just cos you are having a bad day. Form comes and goes over 15 frames. If the players agree beforehand to play say a set of 5 and then return another time that is fine. Just to leave the tournament room without any reason or relevant comment to your opponent just strikes me as unreasonable.

yeah but what if your electric went off or you had a family emergency, you cant speak when that happens, leaving due to bad form is unreasonable yes but he is well within his right to do so and the cup rule wont be changed because 2 people cant get along.

won the 8 ball tourny and got a runout in my first game of the final... its been a while since i got a us8 runout!
a shame my opponent left at the end of the second game when we had a 3rd to play, not sure what happened there exactly
