That would be Mr Blobby by Mr Blobby which spent three non-consecutive weeks at No 1. It had spent one week at No 1 before being knocked off the top by Take That's Babe, but bizarrely Mr Blobby came back for another two weeks and denied Take That the Christmas Number One.

But the story has a happy ending: Babe prevailed in the Irish Christmas singles chart. Mr Blobby vanished and was never seen again.

Apart from the release of Christmas In Blobbyland on 16 December 1995 which got to Number 36 in the UK.
