when i try to get into the actual practice table it just loads half way then just closes the game window...any help would be much appreciated

The Java developer forums are reporting some issues such as these with some browser/java combinations for the latest update (6.20)

Probably the easiest way to see if this is what happening to you is to roll back to a previous version.

Uninstall java from control panel as normal (all versions of course) and then you can grab 6.12, one of the more stable releases, from here : http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u12/index.html

If it cures the problem, just stick with it until the next browser and/or java update

Did it work?

This is very common when java has updated but the game applet is still in the browser cahce from before and effectively out of date. (yes, as before, thats grossly oversimplified!)

No need to roll back, the key is unistalling all versions, clearing browser histories and reinstalling a clean version
