Anybody can challenge, but only one person at a time, and no waiting list (and can only play the king once per reign)

Its never really over because anybody on the forum can post to challenge, so theres a lottt of people

If you challenge the king and win, they cannot challenge you until you are beaten (and you would become the king)

If you challenge and lose, you cannot challenge again until there is a new king

First person to post 'challenge' or whatever becomes the challenger and picks one of the above game types to play in a first to 2 match

In theory, this should never end
