I still can get Massages from my friends, which is not the way i like it.
Either i can choose - all massages / friend massages - or the game should do what it says.
Which is: Ignore NEW pm requests while competing.

Good suggestion - maybe for the time being if you know a friend is going to start a convo during the middle of a game, start the chat with them first so the messages dont appear from no where?

Nothing wrong with a good massage

I would suggest that if the "while competeing" box is ticked, it should ignore all PM's. After all friends can always come to your game room if they really need to get hold of you, or message you offline.

I got a hell lot of open pm if i start to massage all my friends before i can play a game..lol
The silly thing is it pops up in middle of a shot and i cant see anythin anymore - let it pop up in the background and its okay..

I'd prefer what pool_pig suggested - make it do what it currently reads: Block NEW private messages.

The private message dialogs you already have open will necessarily not pop up in your face and disturb you while playing - which I believe is the point of blocking while playing in the first place.

On a related note, a good tip is to minimize PM windows rather than closing them. Especially after Nick added the asterisk for minimzed PM windows with unread messages. In either case it prevents you from the pop-up-in-your-face-while-aiming aspect

Yet another issue that has been suggested before and which would deserve to be brought back to the surface would be an option for having all PM windows appear minimized. Would been a sure favourite with me anyway.

How about having some sort of delay, where PM's sent while playing are delivered once your game is over?

Not a bad idea, but harder to implement. (you'd need a rather large cache of such delayed messages to be stored server side).

You'd also lose messages whenever logging directly out from the game before or at the time a game is finished. That would be the player's choice and not a problem with the concept though.

Yep that is the best idea for me, you can see you have a new message via your taskbar, without the need to flash a big box in the middle of the screen during your shot

Was told that happens, so i can see a new message was written. I still cant see it. Any technically Tipps for me. Is it my Java or whats the reason?

Might be wrong here, but from reading the first post, it suggests that it only ignores NEW PM requests (i.e people who have never PM'd me before) and anyone who's PM'd you in the past will not be blocked?

I was playing a game earlier, got Ignore New PMs while competing, yet a person who is NOT on my friend list managed to open a New PM when I was on my shot.

Now surely this should NOT happen
