Remains to be seen. Stricly speaking, how this works is that the game cannot be forfeited. Period. Which in terms means that when someone says "you can have the rest" or similar, that holds no value what so ever. Both players are still expected to stay available and try to get the game completed to the bext of their ability. If it doesn't happen, the default is decided according to the rules, 8th chapter.

This may not sound fair or sensible at first glance, but in the end of the day this is how it needs to be since we don't want rules that cannot be enforced properly. We cannot and will not have any rule which enforcement is based on "someone said this and someone said that". That will only lead to disputes which are way worse than any unfairness in this scenario.

Example given:

Your opponent leaves the game halfway, saying "you can have the rest". In good faith, you accept and move on, thinking that game is well out of the way. One week later, at the time the fixture ends, that player presents a completely different story, saying YOU left the game and/or YOU forfeited. See just how easily exploitable that would be? Fortunately we have seen limited attempts of unsportingness in the league, but this would be a far too tempting exploit to have in our system.

I completely agree it OUGHT to be a clear 15-0, but what ought to be isn't always possible in practice.

Again, the rules need to take into account two things: What's fair and right, AND what is enforceable. The latter prevents the former in this case, but wait and see.
