in a torny game of straight, I was on for a 20+ run and then the non attendance message came up saying I had gone through because my opponent didn't show up, even though he did, he just left early.

basically, me and my opponent started the game, he broke and potted so it didn't count
*balls were spread
*I got to about a 10 run, so he left
*I then carried on, got to aaround the 20's and the game just went straight back to the practice table
*then I got the non attendance message saying I'd gone through

Any idea why this happened, because as said I could've had a nice little run and announcement

Game play on after opponent leaves should have been completely disabled for straight pool (tournament games) due to complexities like these. I've just seen it's currently not disabled - this will be updated next patch.

i dont think its right for the game just to end because the opponent leaves. goes for all the games. for example say your on a 35 run ( you've won ) the opponent is going to leave, meaning your games finished and you dont get nothing for it.

This only concerns a tournament game.

You would still win the game and get the run of 35 - but your break stops at that point.

If break is allowed to continue during a tournament game you could get disqualified at time limit end or could hold up the entire round while other people are waiting.

The snooker games work the same way. Changing this area is not simple.

But you get warning for tournament invite, and if anyone gets DQ then its their fault, right? If you already won and it says 1minute left to finish this round your just miss on purpose anyway? ( anyone with common sense) would lol.

I got this this afternoon:

TOURNAMENT: Time warning, players have 5 minutes to complete this round
Opponent: wel thats it for me gg wp
TOURNAMENT: Non attendance punishment - Opponent disqualified; clooneman goes through on a bye
GAME: Match finished as Opponent decided not to play again
clooneman: gg, ul
RESULT: 8 Ball Pool Tournament - Opponent (0) loses to clooneman (1) with 2 balls remaining
SYSTEM: Sorry, tournament round time limit expired before your tournament match finished

That can happen when your game finished but it didn't inform the server in time (due to network delays of even a split second).

My opponent leaves the game while I was on a 26 run, this run was not registered.

Apologies about that. I will fix it so it sends in the future.

Next patch I will also add an option for carom to disable the automatic break end during straight tournaments. If you enable this your game continues until you miss - however you're also still playing against the tournament round time.
