Ok I prided myself on having no abandons on my record...but because of some fluke in the game...i clicked no and i got a message "a game has started, if you leave now you will automaticall lose" Now all i did was click no on "would you like to play another game" or whatever it was and was wondering if there was any chance of having it removed as I do not abandon games and pride myself on having that perfect record of finishing every game I play!
I am quite annoyed to say the least!!!

no i will no leave it...i have played alot of games and kept that record and i want it removed, i have worked hard and sacrificed tournements for this record and feel cheated by funky that they removed it because of a glitch and i would like it removed!

that sucks man. ive been through a similar thing, only i think it was an issue with my java where the game would just suddenly close and it would say i abandoned the match. it is annoying, im also pretty proud of the fact that i dont abandon games. good luck with getting the abandoned match removed from your stats

I doubt that the match will be removed.

Having one abandoned match is still a fantastic achievement, and I certainly dont pitty anyone who abandons just one game (even though you didnt do it).

Glitches happen, thats just the way it goes.

Well even if that is the way it happens i think it is completely unfair on an unblemished record.

I remember I was displeased with my first abandoned game, 16,000 games later I've only abandoned 200 odd, due to things like connection failing or if a tournament invite is about to expire when I'm playing a friendly.

At the end of the day it is only a number and I've never really payed attention to people's abandoned games when I look at their stats.

I think that at some time or another everyone will experience an abondonment of the game...

It is extremely frustrating, however it is the same for everyone as rogan has said, there are things that occur through no fault of your own, like connection failing....

I wouldnt be concerned in the slightest about an Abandoned record of 1..

Swish, it should be impossible to receive the message under the situation you described, if it mentions "A game has just started, if you leave now you will automatically lose" then you will remain in a game. Also, the game can only start if you press start or let the timer run out.

However the game did change recently - accepting a tournament invite now takes priority over remaining in an active game.

should be impossible yes...however...is not...as my game proves...when you say takes priority what do you mean by that?

I believe your description of what happened can't be correct - but I know it's difficult to remember the exact order of what happened when you attempt to detail it. If you have a problem, or anyone else has a problem with abandoned games please add a message in this thread.

By "taking priority" I meant the following: If you're currently playing in a game (*any* game even another tournament game) - and accept a tournament invite you will abandon the current game and join the tournament game.

there was once where i went clicked play before the everyone clicked in a game of killer, then i went over to another room because i realised the game wasnt worth my time. but eventhough i didnt receive a message, i later received the result whereby i lost in that killer game. i knew it was due to my superb timing so i didnt raise that problem here

Justforplay - yes that can happen in killer. Killer does not have abandoned game stats and you can leave (without confirmation) at any time

If you leave a game you get the loss against you, so why have abandoned game stats in your profile ?, whats the point of it ?.

It's an indication of people who could leave if you're on a runout or 7balling.

its not a stat I look at before I play someone, anyone could leave when your on a runout or 7balling, thats where the continue break after opponent leaves needs brought in, thats for another thread tho.

A lot of it is for legacy reasons. Your opponent may leave when you're on another achievement to stop you achieving it.

If all games allowed play on ability then, yes, it could be removed.
