I am looking to load new songs onto my MP3 player from bands i've never heard before.

Alkalkine Trio have got a compilation album called Remains, which is pretty good, although I'd recommend getting the albums From Here To Infirmary and Good Mourning, my two favourites

Although I do recommend you get everything from them, they are my favourite band after all

as for one song...ooo toughy lol... gotta be "Drones" but if that's too hard then "prayer of the refugee" I guarantee after listening to it you'll be dancing (or headbanging) to it

some 70s progressive rock; van der graaf generator (plague of lighthouse keepers is a good start), camel (preferably the snow goose album), pink floyd (maybe dark side or wish you were here for starters), gong (mystik sister magick brother's a fine first album from them), king crimson (pictures of a city). could take a bit of time for it to grow on you, but if you do like prog then itll also take a long long time to get sick of it. brilliant brilliant musicianship

also, cant go wrong with a bit of the beatles, black sabbath, orange alabaster mushroom, pentagram, yadayada
