Not having a go or anything here - but I thought that you guys were trying to get away from Funkypool totally??

Well that is kind of having a go to be honest... However, if they were trying to get away from funkypool completely they wouldnt be running an event in it would they?
They said they would like all users to use the new forum but all do not wish to so still need to keep a thread over here too.
My understanding anyway.

Way i see it new users or people new to clans wont understand about the new site, so they will need something here to help them get to grips with it all.
Although it does seem like this "trial" system is really they are going to keep the new forum whatever people say i think, even if its one or two clans that want to use it, but as we have the fpl, we wish you the best on it.

It's a matter of making sure people are aware of the existence of the league at all.
As any trial suggests, there will be an evaluation on which direction to go in once the trial is over. That means the players' voice will be heard at that time, but please realize that this does NOT equal a simple majority vote like some seem to believe. Keep in mind there are other, more important reasons for the forum than the players themselves, so the experience/feedback from the player base will be weighed against those needs.
The bottom line of trial evaluation is simply this:
1. Have we identified any problems that are a show-stopper on an individual basis?
2. Is the sum of all benefits greater or lower than the sum of all negative aspects?

my post was more of a question than anything as it was made quite clear that these guys wanted to fully get away from funkypool (except for the games, obviously)
no need to start getting on my back for asking a quesiton when we see things like above.
If anything I agree that there should still be something here if you are going to go to another site

The league is not an official part of funkypool.com at all. The league hosts and FP admins agree that it would be good to better separate the two, both in terms of authority issues as well as official ties (or more precisely lack thereof).

3. Are there enough players who are comfortable with it?
It also equates down to whether or not people want to play in it, without them the league is nothing

Let me make this perfectly clear right here and now:
This is not, and never has been, a popularity contest. The trial is about seeing how this works, not just a matter of getting a player majority vote in favour of the forum.
So in conclusion, you don't get to play your carefully planned, smugger-than-hell "I told you so" card IF the league runners eventually decide to keep the new forums despite a player minority - simply because no one ever said differently.

For someone who both don't care and don't have the time to use a second forum (self proclaimed as such), you sure post a lot on "our" topics here on funky.
