Is there any chance of changing the flag for Northern Ireland on here from...



to....



I am aware of the issues however the one above is widely used to represent us in sporting contexts.

Emmm... I've never ever seen that top flag before!!! I've just looked now through a ranking table and seen it, though. Where did it come from?

I believe it was one of several designs over the last 5 to 6 years aimed at being acceptable to all of the population.

The flag used is the logo/flag of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

I'm guessing that it was used because the Assembly could be seen as representing both communities?

It is - however its not really a flag of the population and to be honest you dont get much pride in seeing an Assembly flag beside your name in the listings

All communities play for, and support, the national football team, Ulster rugby team and any other Northern Irish representative team such as the Commonwealth Games team etc. All these teams play under the 'Banner' flag.

If it cant be changed on its own can there at least be a choice of flag to opt for? Surprised there have not been similar requests from the Catalans, the Channel Islanders, Isle of Man, etc

This is not a political flag in any way shape or form - It is the flag of Northern Ireland.....

This thread was created a while ago and yet I still have to put up with the pathetic flag of the "Northern Ireland Assembly".....

Martin Blank stated is was to "represent both sides" in N.Ireland - rubbish.....

Any person living in Northern Ireland will either choose the Irish Flag (tri-colour) or the Ulster Flag - its not political, racist or bigoted.

It is the flags of the countries players feel allegiance to.

By giving the option of the Ireland flag but not the Ulster flag, in my opinion is laughable - I am allowed to choose the Ulster flag on funky snooker - is it not the same people who run both??
