Hey guys, I need some help

I've got a computer upstairs now, which is connected via an access point. Now when I play the PS3 online I usually take it down stairs, plug the ethernet cable in and Bob is your uncle.

But now I need to get it to work upstairs, and after about an hour of trying I have given up. I've taken a ethernet cable fron downstairs, plugged it into the upstairs one which has the access point thingy and nothing, just says it cannot connect. I've tried to use the wireless settings option on the PS3 and that has opened up a whole new world of headaches. It seems to scan and pick up my sky broadband, then it offers 3 options to click and the one option labelled "none" just says access point not detected. Right ok. But the other two option ask for a WPA key, what is that?

So....

I am basically hoping that someone on here could tell me how to connect this PS3 to the internet via my upstairs computer which is connected to the downstairs computer, internet modem thingy via an access point..

Thanks

On your wireless router, the WPA key is usually underneath it, it's like a series of letters and numbers. Other than that I can't help you out mate

its actualy rather simple just when goin to internet connection settings it will ask u what method do you want to use to set it up just click easy:) then click wireless after that it will search for your wireless router

a few diffrent onces may pop up but click on the one with strongest signal which will be yours then it will ask you for such things as ip adress and DNS code but just click automatic and its should find them automatically

also you actually dont need to use ur wpa key unless you have a sercurity lock on your router because PSN is a secure network its self

If your wireless connection is protected, you need to type in the access code to connect (this is the WPA key). Are you able to track this number down? If not, I believe you can can your ISP and they can change the WPA for you. This has happened to my cousin before, and they changed it to her phone number.
