It's not a technical problem to implement at all - it's a question of whether it's right.

95% of the time, someone triggering the filter 3 times in a short time should be booted. Problem is the remaining 5%.

Personally, I don't even agree that things that DO get filtered ought to provoke reactions what so ever (the action has already been taken in form of replacing the word by stars), but that's a different discussion entirely.

Bottom line remains tho, and which flumpy will experience soon enough, is that people writing things that get filtered isn't the main challenge at all - nor does it hurt anyone.

The real problem is those who circumvent the filter. Something automation can never ever do anything about. You need people for that.

Adding an automated reaction based on the filter would if anything not make people swear less. It would merely shift even more of the cases from the part that does get filtered to the part that doesn't. In short, people would be even more careful to make sure they write things that don't get filtered. Which is not a good thing.

I agree with what Jan says above, someone does not get offended when you see ***** this, but might get offended by say a word which isnt filtered, swears can be changed heaps to get around the filter!!!
