Like watching or playing tennis? Or do you just want to try out a new format of tournament? If so, the Tennis Championship is for you!

If you understand the rules of tennis, this will not be hard to understand.

The competition will contain 16 competitors. Here is the difference from most simple tournaments - his contains best of five matches. So in other words, whoever wins three game types is through. The first set will contain 9 Ball. The second will contain 8 Ball US. The third set will be 8 Ball UK. By the end of 8 Ball UK, someone may have won 3-0, so they will not need to play two final sets.

The tennis part is simple enough. In each game type, the player who is the first to reach 6 wins the set. So if you are up 6-0 to 6-4, the set is yours. If the set reaches 5-5, it will be first to 7, so it will end 7-5 or 7-6. This will be the format for all of the first three game types.

If a fourth set is needed, then the fourth game will be Straight Pool. This will just be a first to 2, so the scoreline will finish 2-0, or 2-1.

Should a fifth and final set be required, then get ready to play more 9 Ball. Again, it will be first to 6. But should the scoreline be 6-6 in this final set, the winner will be the player who is two games ahead. So there will be no 7-6 this time. It could end 8-6, or even 50-48

Seedings:

Now, like all tennis tournaments, this WILL BE seeded. A seed is like a rank, the top player will be 1st. The main point of this in tennis is to try and end up with the two best players meeting in the final, instead of the 1st Round. So, for this tournament, the top 8 seeds will all avoid each other in the First round, will the other 8 will be unseeded and could be drawn against any of the seeds. I will decide who is seeded and who isn't.

If you have no knowledge of how a tennis game works, or you don't understand a word of this, you might as well not enter. If you understand most of my posts, feel free to join.

Finally, reliability is a key issue. I cannot stress enough how important it is, these games will take a while. Holidays I can understand, but if you are going away in a few days time, don't bother entering. If a holiday may interfere with a game, tell me, so I know how long we can wait. If a player doesn't seem to be making an attempt to play their opponent, I shall disqualify them.

sound good but come on mini golf thats the let down as most the top players no how to get hole in one on most off them there alll pretty easy apart from the last one

The other option for me would be to say Straight, but the games last long enough without another long game being involved. I know it's not a great option, but it's quick and not all top players are good at it, while lower players may be better at it than some.

Changed to first to 2 in Straight, seeing as it appears more preferred. I put in mini-golf as it's shorter, but I'm willing to co-operate, so Straight it is.
