When a user is banned as we all know all their forum posts say banned user on them. However i was thinking, to keep the forums tidy and for the help of league runners, clan runners and for easy reading if it still had their name like it does on their profile with banned user in brackets.
For example.
Player_A (Banned User) - On profile
Player_B (Banned user) - On profile
banned user - "hey guys you okay"
banned user - "Hey mate not bad you"
Thats how it may be at the minute
However i was thinking if it was more like below we could understand better who everyone is and who is saying what...
Player_A (banned user) - "Hey guys you okay"
Player_B (banned user) - "Hey mate not bad you"
It's easier to know whats going on and who said what and who is banned from the given example and i think it would tidy forums up a bit too.
May have already been mentioned i just thought it would be good to implement and wouldnt be hard to do so either.

Well a banned user is generally regarded as someone who has been a nuisance on FP and is not welcome back...
So I'd have no problem labelling them all as part of the same group...thus banned user
Easy..

Part of me thinks you just cotradicted me, because it's me
Yeah i agree in that respect Red, but surely its easier for everyone to understand if their name and banned user was on it, like i posted.
And then league and clan runners would also be able to see who if any from their respective events have been banned.

I would like to see a hall of shame, where all banned users get listed with the reason they were banned, can't see this happening but would serve as a warning to others that do wrong

Interesting points, all.
Can't see the reasons for individual bannings being put up, and that's a topic that has been done to death. Punishments are a confidential matter between the staff and the user.
Regarding replacing Banned User with player_a (Banned User), I'm in favour. It already happens with deactivated players. Plus, what if you see an old thread like this:
Banned user: Who is the best 9 ball player? I want to challenge him/her
Banned user: I think it's player_a
Banned user: He's very good, I saw him in a tourney and he was brilliant
Banned user: Thanks
Banned user: 3 tourneys in a row yesterday
Who is saying "Thanks"? The person who asked the question or player_a? Are the second and third comments from the same person or different people? Who is saying player_a won 3 in a row?
Knowing who posted the comment prior to being banned will always be helpful and can't do any harm. Plus, a lot of banned players come back, and if someone comes back and says "I used to be player_a but they banned me for no reason, can I join your clan", you can say to yourself "Hmmm, I went through another clan thread and player_a was banned for posting false scores and for forum abuse" and you could decide from there. It would certainly narrow the opportunities an unwelcome banned player has for squirming back in and gaining acceptance from unwitting members.

I have never really understood that at all. In what society or situation are wrongdoings and the penalties for wrongdoings kept hush hush?
Leaving that point aside it is not as if an individual's name is ever being revealed that could lead to direct shame, only a user name.
If the user happens to be known personally to others and feels shame for doing something wrong then to my mind that's their own fault.
Revealing very general details of bannings (abusiveness, cheating, previously banned user etc) might even reduce the instances - but that is a long shot agreed.
Back to the thread - anything that keeps the forum tidy would be good.

I like the concept of the idea, Mich.
It would indeed make the forums a more tidy place!

If you could go back in time and make all Mich's own posts on his various banned accounts, the forums would like someone had being doing some C.S on a graffitied wall
Good shout Mich, ironic it was you to think this up

Great Idea Mich!
Being a past clan captain i think it would be a great idea to be aware of the banned name we do not need to know the full reason as said above that is between the staff and banned member! But i think it would make it easy to see if a person is banned and will make the threads look a lot neater, and would make it far easier for the clans runners/captains to run their teams.
Again nice idea

I completely support this idea.
If a banned user has posted something we for whatever reason don't want to stay on the forums, the content of the post is removed anyway, so no need to hide who has said what imho.

I'm guessing that as far as everyone else is concerned, it's none of their business. Say for example someone has an Emily moment like that one in Big Brother and says something racially insensitive that they didn't mean and they regret, and they get banned. Do they want that advertised? "player_a was banned for racist comments" - no, I doubt it.
That said, I'm sure there is nothing preventing the banned or otherwise disciplined player from divulging him/herself the reason for his/her banning or punishment.

I think thats missing the point cloone mate - the fact is in the example you gave she wasnt removed with no explanation being given - and rightly so.
Its not a case of 'advertising', again in the example you give there needn't be any specific explanation as to the nature of the 'comments'.

I would love this aswell. Some people get banned and arnt given a reason for it even if they use contact us and ask why.
And yes it might make people think before they break rules.

Bringing this back up as recently its becoming harder and harder to read the forums due to banned members and it would be alot easier if we could see their name and (banned user) in brackets like that next to it!

I used to be of the same opinion, but over time I came to realise why its necessary to have things as they are.
Primarily there is the legal aspect. Whatever details or proof you may have, posting on a public site that someone is guilty of racism, for example, can preove very expensive! Hence the sites privacy policy.
Also, bannings are overturned, agreements are made for returns, and basically people grow up. We have many good, dedicated members who have made mistakes in the past and they deserve to be able to continue being good examples without constant questioning about thier past.
Revealing very general details of bannings (abusiveness, cheating, previously banned user etc) might even reduce the instances - but that is a long shot agreed.
Now general details, as in "5 people were banned yesterday for abusive behaviour" type stats, may just help as you say, as they may go some way to make people aware that they gotta play by the rules!
Again, back to topic, yes, its a very good idea.
