Today marks the 15th Anniversary of the sudden death of Ayrton Senna, the most horrible, unpredictable and emotional weekend in Formula one history.
Even 15 years on, the memories stay of Senna, his skill and commitment will forever be engraved into F1 history.
A true legend, the greatest of all time, and always will be.
R.I.P
1960 - 1994.

I doubt there will ever be a driver quite like him.
Use to love watching him and Mansell fight it out!

There will never be a driver close to his level. Not even Schumacher could match those cool skills on rain, overtaking, and so on.
In short, every difficult situation - no one handled it better than this guy.
I really look forward to the up-coming movie.

And all of those that forget that yesterday was 15 years on from Roland Ratzenberger's fatal accident in the same race, in the qualifying session.
Ratzenberger's death almost made Ayrton decide not to race that San Marino race but he was persuaded to do it, and he drove with an Austrian flag in his car which he would have held on the podium had he won in memory of Ratzenberger.
Everyone apart from Max Moseley attended Senna's funeral, but Moseley decided to attend Ratzenberger's.
Rubens Barrichello was a lucky man in that race, he had a high speed crash and almost swallowed his tongue for it not be marshalls and paramedics getting to him
So RIP Roland Ratzenberger 1960-1994
RIP Ayrton Senna 1960-1994

It's easy to sit on the sideline and comment, but watching that video it's hard not to think "Why the hell don't they DO SOMETHING"
The driver who had stopped tries all sorts of approaches , but virtually no one helps him... If they had all worked together, they'd tipped that car right side up easily - but they don't dare.

Yeah, it's really hard to watch. Not so much because he dies, but because everything suggests he could been saved by people acting more correct and as a team.

The problem is that the stewards are all volunteers, well they are in the BTCC, not so sure about that racing, are they actually qualified enough to deal with that? That's the worry

According to wiki and other websites i have browsed, all paramedics and stewards are not "FULLY QUALIFIED" this has been stated on more than 1 website so we do not know what to beleive. I myself have watched the vide being so disgusted i chose not to watch it again to try and make sense why they just stood there like lemons.

To my understanding all stewards are volunteers.
It certainly explain's their reluctence to help - however qualified firemen might have done.... who knows!
