c'mon guys, we need some big wins, untouchables have moved to the top of the league, default 10-0s have helped them, are any of them capable of winning 10-0 I ask myself ?, anyway lol, if we wanna win the league we need some big results or they are gonna get it with some big default results lol
I thought they made the default system fairer, obviously not.

We had two default 10-0s, one of which involved a player who didnt log in during the two weeks and freely admitted so on his own thread. The other arranged 3 times to play and didnt show, and refused to play when seen online twice.

You would burst into tears if you didnt get 10 points for those games

Get over it and prepare your clan for a great battle and hopefully 8 played games against us next fortnight

If an MVP player was unable to play a game because the opponent didnt turn up to 3 scheduled times, refused to play when online twice or their opponent didnt log in during the fortnight, the result would have been the same

I have no idea if your having a bit of banter or if you actually believe the rubbish you are typing

time to move on, we'll just have to wait and see what wins the league, reliability or defaults

The league will come down to our game next fortnight, it will be won or lost there, I think we will be pretty much even all the way to that last game

I'm sure if we win it, you will bring those defaults back up though

Time to throw my tuppence worth in, from the information provided and the current rules the 10-0s were probably right,
Surely the issue hear is because of the way defaults are done, players who think well i have done my bit and will get a 10 - 0 just wait for the default.
MVP had one game left where ex_champ was to play __anaconda__ of dt the two captains actively tried everything to ensure that the game was played rather than going to a default. Either team may well have had the default win covered by messages etc. but neither captain wished for the game to go to a default. By playing the game either team may have cost themselves points by playing but would have preferred this to a default.
It is a shame with the current format that not all captains adopt this policy.
Also with 2 weeks to play a game why did a captain allow 2 games involoving the same player to go to defaults when he had not logged in?
Captains are meant to run teams / players and clearly it hasn't happened in this case.
Going forward i hope the league runners look at chris's ideas to get rid of this problem as if they don't it will keep coming back and it is by far the best solution been put forward.

Best of luck to MMT and the unbearables and lets hope it does go to the last game and its a good game to make the league exciting.

Won UK 3-1 in end, just need to plau US8, got 7 points in the bag at least.

Nice post Keith, completely in agreement with all you said. What I don't understand is why top dogs didn't put in subs to play the games that obviously were never gonna be played, like we and most other clans did. We probably could have got 10 points for ex champ's game if it went to default, but we like to make sure all our games are played and don't have the extremely distorting feature that is defaults come into play, and hence adidas being subbed in for ex. This is why I made the thread I did ages ago about defaults, they are ALWAYS gonna cause arguments, and the only beneficiary is those who get 10 points from it. The system is and always has been flawed, it's a shame really!

Niall is right in that Top Dogs should have made a sub or two as well, Dave went AWOL that week, and I wasnt online much myself save to check if hughzy had put an appearance in, so neither of us harrassed Jay to make the sub

As for changing the default system, the only good way to do it, is to change it from Frames to giving points like football matches. That decision rests with Steph, remember I just help her to run it, she took it over after I messed up and lost my posting rights and left the site.

The position with substitutions was a grey area and I think the new system was only introduced midway through our games with Top Dogs. On a related note, ste_efc was online far more than npinson and yet still played on deadline day when a big default win would have been assured for us. Similarly jan played punisher when he could well have got the 10-0 win. We dropped 4 points there which could prove to be important Sour grapes from alan again, but then again he likes to find excuses for defeats

excuses for defeats lol, we're doing alright, the systems obviously wrong tho and needs sorted, how I don't know and to be totally honest past caring, as keith said we couldve sat back and taken a default win from 1 match but we didnt, we used the sub to get it played,
at the end of the season if MVP can play all or nearly all our games i'll be happy, if we go the season unbeaten i'll be very happy

But last weeks defaults were justified :P

To add to that i noticed the game was played after deadline only by couple of hours but i allowed it as its one less default and u would have likely got a 10 whereas he got a 9 from memory :)
