And whyyyy is it a load of rubbish?! Golf is a far more global sport than rugby will ever be, it's long overdue in my opinion! What have the Scots to look forward to anyway? They haven't got a decent golfer

pfffft and thats another thing I dont see how it qualifies as a sport.

I see sport as something where you push your physical limits, get out of breath, get the heart pumping and blood circulating.

I would put it in the same category as pool, snooker, darts, archery, skeet men etc.

Oh lord the narrow-mindedness of it all! Sport is competition...golf is one of the most fiercely competitive sports there is out there. You go play 4 rounds of golf from thursday to sunday and tell me you're not feeling exhausted after it! Anyway that's besides the point. I won't even argue what you wrote because I don't need to. If you don't see golf as a sport, then quite frankly you don't know what sport is

Definition of sport:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define%3Asport&meta=&aq=f&oq=

I quote "?an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition "

The number one point just completely contradicts the fact that golf is a sport

And it is a known fact that these golf "sportsmen" can not compete physically at all against other categories of real sport.

I know this from experience of watching superstars over the years and in the majority of activities golf players are left for dead.

And your right you would be exhausted after a few days well if you dont have these buggies and caddies which I think are pathetic but thats a different argument entirely. But you would also be tired after doing bricking, washing, plumbing for any length of time so that on its own is not a sport.

I dont think it shouldn't exist at all lol its my personal opinion that I dont like it and its good people get fresh air and play but all golf and any other games like pool, darts etc is:

Unexhausting
Relaxing
Skillfull
Good source of fresh air (golf)
Social sport

And thats all it will be im afraid.

Pmsl...^^^ biggest load of rubbish I've ever heard, sorry

The fact you had to look up a definition of sport says an awful lot...for your next lesson, look up a definition of physical exertion...I think you'll find anything requiring any sort of movement falls under that category. You're forming your opinion solely based on the fact that you don't like golf, hence the narrow-mindedness. YOUR definition of sport is still completely tainted and just plain wrong.

You know the rules, don't do it again!

I didnt have to look up the definition of sport I just wanted you to know the definition and that it confirms my thoughts.

You only think it is becoming across as biused due to my previous comment but the fact is I have backed it up with facts. I obviously havent based it just around that idea as I have other games going into that category such as pool and snooker which I enjoy hence the site.

It thoroughly frustrates me how I have put together a well formed argument in this minor debate and your reply is basically calling it inferior and making excuses and accusations of it being biused.

You havent properly interlinked your comments with golf and any resources which in normal essays would be percieved as an "invalid" argument.

If you could try implementing these to structure a good argument reply I would bne grateful not so I can shoot it down I am intrigued on the other aspect of this debate.

I already know what sport is, you really didn't have to tell me what it is! I've no idea what biused is, but if you mean biased well then yeah, your opinion is wholly biased because you don't like the sport. This isn't a debate anyway - you stated something which is factually untrue - that golf isn't a sport - which it evidently is. You think I have to go prove that golf is a sport?! That's just nonsense. There would never be any such debate to suggest that golf isn't a sport, so I really don't need to "properly interlink my comments with golf and any resources" (wtf you on about lol).

Anyway enough of that trash talk, Geoff Ogilvy is going along nicele...

Well if your going to be pedantic..

No idea what nicele means but if you mean then nicely I could try it.

Plus golf never used to be a sport you know so if we had the argument then I could say "its pointless as its not a sport so there".

Ive already stated how its not biased so now your just covering old ground.

If you wish not to continue fair enough I shall leave you in your comfort zone

Ignoring the unfortunate ignorance above...super stuff from Padraig today, still think (and hope) Woods will be too good tomorrow! Shame they aren't playing together again, though I don't think Harrington will mind that too much! Should be an interesting battle tomorrow, still a few in with a chance, but most likely will be about whether Harrington can catch Woods, I think he's the only one in with a realistic chance of doing so! Exciting stuff!
