Ok. I keep having this problem with firefox. It keeps shutting down randomly....FOR NO REASON....It's happen twice in the past 5 minutes causing me to lose lots of points (I'm not concerned with the points, as Funkypool is just a game), but it's really aggravating. It gives no warning, no option to save anything...it just closes all together...and it takes a few minutes for me to boot it back up. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Be happy i wasn't swearing, cuz im really ticked off right now!

yeah, mine has done that a couple of times and comes up with a 'Crash report'.
Just make sure you arent overloading your browser with content and dont force the computer to do anything (click on links when the page is still loading).

It's a graphics overload. When I played Runescape on Firefox, it closed down when I went Fullscreen. Try it in IE, see what happens.

Which versions are you using of Windows, Firefox and Java?
(afraid I dont have any real ideas for what might be causing ff to crash in your case, but versions needed for debugging anyway... hopefully Dave may have further ideas or tips)
In the meantime, using a different browser for funkypool might be a workaround.

I'm sure this is related to Java. Try removing/rebooting/reinstalling Java, to see if it fixes it.

(On Psyco's behalf, since we share the laptop)
Your java properties:
Java version: 1.6.0_13
Java vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
Operating system: Windows XP
VERDICT: success
Firefox version 3.0.8
Do you think Java is all that's wrong? Sometimes, for me, it crashes just whilst surfing the internet. (for example, just happened whilst clicking on a FP forum thread)

I'm going to be predictably horrible here and say that this type of thing is precisely the reason I have a dislike of Firefox, random crashing has been a feature from the start.
If it was working OK before last weeks Java update, then it is possible that has caused it to become less stable, so removing both FF and Java, then reinstalling FF followed by Java 1.6.12 should put you back where you were.
I would also try running a malware scan and windows update, as FF is notorious for letting the gremlins in to run free so that may be the source of your problems.
(See - manage to get all the way through that without mentioning IE8! Oh... Do'h )

We all love your browser bias Dave
For my part, FF could crash 10 times a day and it would still be preferable to IE

I agree with Jan. I love FF. I believe it to be so much better than IE. (Not saying your decision is a bad one Spinner) I've used IE for several years prior to discovering FF, and i have to admit that i was quite unsatisfied with its overall performance and ability to handle my multi-taking. Another thing i love about FF is the "tab". I hated having 10 different windows open at the same time, which, in turn, drastically slowed the surfing ability of my laptop. FF has solved that problem by eliminating the need for multiple windows. FF also has its own pop-up blocker (which works wonders in FP) and speed boost.

In all fairness, IE8+ supports tabbed browsing too (they finally caught on I guess). Still some way to go in terms of mouse avoidance tho, then again, that term never was in Microsoft's vocabulary in the first place.
My biggest grudge with IE is their inability to stick to standards (and there's no example in the world where standards are more important than in a distributed system like The Internet). Second complaint is their general idea of security by obscurity. Thinking "leaving this hole open isn't a problem since no one will find it anyway" has never ever worked in any scenario.
FF picking up more and more security issues too as their popularity is spreading, but overall they apply a far better policy toward security issues.
