Well last year I was going through some work overdose. I was switching jobs, writing more than I was capable of and tried to merge that with the girlfriend and Rugby, so, after a think I'd come up with the perfect plan. I wrote a letter of suicide and left it on the kitchen side along with some important belongings of mine I hadn't showed anybody prior to that. I'd gone sleeping at the girlfriends and so their genuine belief I'd gone, seeing all these special items they didn't know existed to me and the letter of suicide was more than enough to fool them despite the occasion.
I came back at about 11 AM to mend their heartbreak. Afterwards the eventual laughing ended we all went the pub along with some friends and the girlfriend. It was a pretty good day, actually.
So this year I'm expecting something big. I'm taking a year off, but I'm looking forward to what he's planned. My old man's hit me with some crackers over the years so I'm excited to see what he's spiced up in revenge for last year. I'm usually aware of the date and whatnot, but even still, we'll usually come up with something stronger and darker than before each year. I guess I've got up until 12:00 PM to stick it out.
April Fool's as a father-son thing in this house is bigger than Christmas. I've not long been back from Osaka, too, so he'll have definitely got something ready.
Oh and I don't believe in any of that crap of 'It's sick dude' because, well, I just couldn't care less. So don't bother.

My Dad's a 'he', but like I said, April Fool's is a bigger thing than Christmas between us.
Today was a disappointment though. I guess me only just coming back from Osaka had the total opposite effect on the day than I originally thought it would've had. He basically bought a cheap faulty PS3 and replaced it with mine. I usually go on for a few games in the morning before work, but he played it pretty smoothly so I'd know that was his April Fool's. I got a letter in the post too from my boss saying my newly promoted/gained job was in jeopardy due to discrimination. That too was from my Dad which, well, was pretty believable since I thought he'd sold out on the PS3. I was still disappointed in him, though.
I'm glad somebody has a good sense of humour.

Got caught at school today... English teacher said that our English Lit. exam had been moved forward 4 weeks to the first Monday back...
The class was gobsmacked into silence!
Then when the teacher shouted April Fools, the whole class burst into an angry mob-type thing while the teacher was in hysterics!

We told out class of year 3-4 (7-9 years) that the egg drop was cancelled and that they wouldn't be going home with their Kindar Egg Surpirse!
One almost cried..........
We also told the teacher that he was wanted in the heads office and that he was in big trouble..... the worry in his face was hilarious.
