In one of the more recent updates you became able to edit a post within a couple of minutes of posting without it showing as being edited.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have an option to delete the post completely but just within that same period.

I think this would help tidy up the forum as you see plenty of 'double posts' and also edited posts where in the time it has taken you to type out yours someone else has posted in the meantime rendering it obsolete.

I can't see any major downsides to this other than a) the risk that people make abusive/rude posts that are seen for two minutes that they then delete (but I'm sure this could be monitored and with screenshots and the complaint system etc that any offender(s) could be dealt with appropriately) and b) mmt might lose his fun in being able to quote gullible posts made in response to next year's april fools joke unless of course he was really fast and monitoring the thread constantly (which i suspect he does anyway)!!

Being completely honest, I don't see any reason for that to be monitored. Unless its an extremely popular thread, who's gonna see it within those two minutes?

i like the idea of getting rid of the double post.

BUT - I think admin would need to look at cases where people delete posts too often (say...20 times in one day) as thats just spamming the forum.

Or how about having the option to delete it for an hour - or until someone else posts; whicever comes first.
