Shattering your hand in a wood cutting machine hurts a lot!

The compensation eases the pain though

Dropping a box full of folding tables onto your toe, cracking it right in the middle.

Oh, and breaking your ankle...or almost anyway.

From the other thread about scary moments.

Mines was when I fell off my motocross bike and broke my rib and punchared my lung. Was scary because I couldnt breath and started to really panic which made things worse.

All good now but.

*Smacks dr_lovepump over the head with a lump of wood*

Does that work?

My most painful moment to date was as a 9 year old playing football in the school playground. The game space invaders was well known at the time and for fun we would line up against the goal painted brick wall and parade back and forth whilst the schools hardest kicker of the ball took repeated shots in an attempt to stop the alien invasion.

I remember his name was Karl and funnily enough he was also the hardest kid in the school!

Anyway, a few kicks later i've taken a hit to an area of my body that should never have force inflicted upon it and as a result i drop to the floor like a sack of potatoes.

I would describe the situation in these stages:

1. The realization that a minute ago i was standing up.
2. The faint echo of laughter from my friends...
3. The sensation that my stomach was being surgically removed using a blunt chisel and a spoon.

Breaking my thumb playing football, on my right hand (writing hand), therefore can't play football for 7 weeks, can't write for 7 weeks and worst thing is, it's my final year of university with a lot of assignments due in shortly

I went white water rafting once when I was about 14. Our instructor told us he was going to guide us over a rock.

Turned out to be two huge boulders.

Our raft flipped and the only way to navigate around them was to go through them whilst underwater. I almost drowned and would have continued on downstream, except my cousin grabbed my arm and pulled me to the edge.

I didn't injure anything, but my lungs were on fire for almost a week and it's the most pain I can remember feeling.

ive torn ligament on both my knees on different occasions, the first ice-scating and the second playing footy! on crutches round 5/6 months each time!
but the most painful had to be when i pulled a muscle in my neck and couldn't move it for a week without the worst pain ive EVER felt

Dislocated shoulder for 10+ hours is nice.

Did it again 2 days ago - then again better at fixing it quickly now

Taking muscle tissue samples without anesthetics is interesting too

Lmao !

I must say, it's quite hard to pick one out. Running into the radiator and crushing my little toe hurt, broken hand from rugby and a broken foot from falling over then deciding to play through the pain (stupid) all up there.

But my most painful moment was probably when Wales had New Zealand come to the millenium stadium and completely outplayed them, with our fly half Stephen Jones missing kicks that would have won us the game (simple kicks)
We lost 25-26 and still have not beaten New Zeland since 1953
