I was watching a quarter final match in UK last night between so and so, and during the final game lady potted the black and an opponents ball, BUT waray was not responding and eventually left the room. We waited in awe to see what would happen with the winner. As it turned out after the round expired lady was declared the winner by a bye, when she did in fact lose the game. Why is that?
was just eaiser to say names

well considering that the system would not tkae something like that into equation - the absense of the second player was good enough for the system to declare a winner.

I dont think nick should do anything to fix it as I HIGHLY DOUBT that it would happen again!

I think that naming is ok, as long as you dont name and shame

"not responding" can happen it all depends on the internet provider they have or if the person not responding lost power or a lead came out.
Depends how you look at it.

Not sure why the game wasn't awarded to waray after the foul, but what is clear is that when a round runs out of time, the tournament checks to see if both players are in the room, and if only one is, the other is disqualified and the player who is still there advances. If both are present, they're both disqualified for slow play.

I've never seen a case where the game freezes and both players absent themselves before the round ends, but I'd imagine they're both disqualified.
