its not my job to help an old lady across the road but it is decent.......no-one is askin u to send messages all over the place as to why someone is banned just a quick note to the clan leader to say someone is banned and to look for a replacement - again no-ones job but decent........

Just to add as i missed all the above as my funky home page wouldnt work.

But i wasnt on from 10pm ish last ngith till this morn so i dont know when he was banned i only found out this morning when looking profiles for log ins.

And just to clarify, it no one's responsibility, least not Admins or Mods to inform you of any banning.

I suggest in future you pick a nice reliable team, and keep checks yourself.

I find this very unfair that we cant make the change, the last time i checked(sunday) he was a live player then the next thing i see on monday he is banned, so before u start telling me what to do by keep checking my team, I DO! and by the way i am just vice stepping in on this capt role **** i dint choose the team! Might find myself looking for a new clan next season guys sorry,

I don't make the rules regarding changes, that's up to Potty and Mike.

The only thing I can say is for all clan members, from any team, to try and keep everyone informed as much as possible.

This particular incident is a freak and unfortunate in it's timing - I tend to agree with you that it wouldn't harm anyone to change the line up now. However this has been discussed and the people running the clans have made a decision. Feel free to bring up for discussion in the relevant thread, which I think will be found in the offical clan forum.

I don't see the harm in using a sub to complete the games in this case, not school of pools fault he got banned and because of the timing they had no chance to replace the guy in time, the guy got banned right on the deadline for subs, they shouldnt get punished too, a bit of common sense in this case and let the games get played.

Well said m8 and thanks for a bit of common sense and decency from someone not even in our clan.

From my own point of view if you check I have played my games within 24hrs or so of knowing the fixtures. This isnt always possible for everyone.

I also feel that our clan is being penalised.

The whole point is that we are a new clan.

Most of us are reliable and play our games and log on fairly frequently.

As its a new clan that had to recruit new players its impossible to vet everyone and ensure their reliability.

You can only ensure this by seeing who plays their games as season goes on etc.

If you look at our clan we are doing fairly well in getting our games played but this stubborn attitude by some of the organisers are actually going to cause more problems than solve the issue they were trying to address as more teams are just going to say whats the point.

Re its not a moderator or organisers job to notify every change, whilst I accept this I feel this is a very unusual occurence where an exception should be made. Also the time taken to post comments on all this.......

I was going to say that the time taken to post comments on all this would suggest that had the initial decision been simply to allow a sub this would have saved more time than all the faffing about regarding it.

I agree with merv that just because its not obligatory it may have been nice to notify us in time esp when it seems clear some of those in charge were aware of it.

No we werent aware till monday morning when i logged in deadline for subs is sundays.

If a user has been banned and i know i msg the captains and say i need a sub by x time today ask ukpoolking as he had a user banned last thurs and i sorted with him a sub.

In this case i posted as deadline was passed.

WASTE!! So what now do we lose that game 10-0 or are u gunna treat it as a match unplayed and predict what u think the score would have been like u did last 2 week fixtures??

It's not the staff's business to sort out any arrangements a banned user might have had, I'm sorry.

I for one try to toss a message to the relevant clan whenever a clan player gets banned, but that's a service you can't and shouldn't expect or take for granted at all.

I know what you are saying, but all i want is to be allowed to make the sub so that the game can be played. highlight GAME 1 measley game!!!

I agree foxes, but that's up to the league hosts, not funkypool staff, so not much I can do in regard to that.

maybe we need a new rule put in place for using subs in the 2nd week of fixtures in cases of players getting banned only, seems silly to make the game go to default when theres a whole week left to play the fixture

Explain the difference in subs being allowed if some idiot gets banned as opposed to someone being offline for a while because their mum died or something similar.....I am of the opinion that if we were to make any leeway for this rule, it would be the total opposite to what people are sugggesting here.......banned users get banned for a reason.....I've done some pretty stupid things on here and I'm still here, so I'm thinking people never get banned for "no reason".

If you want to avoid getting 10-0 defaults then don't sign people who are going to get banned! I would have no problem whatsoever with losing a game 10-0 because the player on my side had been banned....I'd just abuse Dave for picking them in the first place......with mich and grace on our side, someone could get banned at a moments notice

Not my place to decide, but I frankly feel we are putting too much responsibility on clan captians in terms of banned users.

People aren't fortune tellers, and while some users walk around with a big fat sticker saying "Will get myself banned within a week or two", a lot of potential trouble makers don't.

Expecting clans to never recruit players who end up getting themselves banned is asking a bit much - IMHO.

As long as subs can easily be arranged before the deadline, what negative aspects could allowing this have? If the game remains unplayed, the default could still be weighted in favor of the non-banned clan of course.
