well there is a good reason for why you shouldnt have rank points on the tournament page, because there are players like that.

because someone looks at it and goes "pfft, 675, he is easy"...unless the tournaments wins were there as well.

But I have been wondering for quite a while weather that their rank should be seen when you start a match.

Currently, its something like (excuse me if I am wrong)

aflumpire (intermediate) v _flumpy_ (adept)

wouldnt it be better if it was

aflumpire (0 wins, 698.11) v _flumpy_ (3 wins, 777.77)

I think that would be to much for the tournament page, but if the opponents saw that when they were about to play each other, then you know how much of an opposition you really have.

I don't know about it being 'better' because I personally would keep it the way it is now (if options were introduced) but it would certainly be good to have as an option.

Options aren't good. Keep everything the way it is and it will reduce confusion. No one wants a geeky site where people are analysing the percentage games where people select yellows as their prefered suit etc. If it aint broken....

If you had it like that, then you know who you are really up against. If you just saw their rank, then they may suprise you. But if you saw their tournament wins as well, then you know who you are truly up against.

so I think having their rank AND the amount of thournaments they have won insted of just novice, intermediate, adept, professional and virtuso, then you know what to expect.

Obviously some people do want a geeky site, or this thread wouldn't exist! But yeah, i agree.

leave it as it is i dont care what there rating or how many trnys they have won we all have good days and bad days i just play the game

Back when I first started on FP, I would see what kind of opponent I was playing, their rank, their tourney wins, etc. Then later, I just didn't bother any more. All that matters is winning the final, and to do that, you have to play your best against whoever the draw puts against you. When my opponent begins by potting 5 or 6 balls in a row and then snookers me, or when he/she misses a sitter and scratches in the same shot, then I'll know what kind of player I'm playing against.
