i always see people say 'bump' in a forum post.. what does it mean ?

It means they put a useless post on a thread in order to bring it to the top of the list.

Say if your question hadn't been answered on game queries and it went to the second page, you would put "bump" on a post in order to bring it to the top and (hopefully) to the attention of people

but if you do it all the time then people will get annoyed and maybe classed as spamming

I just wait for a question to be answered as I know people with reply ASAP so saying that there is no point in saying ''Bump''
