My brother got a brand new computer 2 years ago and has never been able to sign into MSN messenger the message we get once he tries to sign in is:
Sorry we were unable to sign you into MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later.
MSN Messenger has made several failed attemps to sign you in. Your firewall may be blocking Messenger from connecting to the service. Please review your firewall setings. See the retailer's instructions for more information.
Now i have had a look at my firewall setting and they all seem fine, it says add a program, but MSN is already in place and ticked also. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure Spinner will say more or less the same thing!
Happened to my laptop a few years back so I just reinstalled a newer version and it seemed to work fine there on after.

Try the older version to find out wheather it is the laster version's that your pc doesn't like.
You can find the oldest version straight away Just Google search it.
Let me know.
I'm sure you don't want the older version but it will do if it works?

I remember about 2 years back, when I first signed up to MSN i couldn't connect..
I googled a few things and ended up downloading .net framework or something :S I don't really know what it is but apparently lets you run applications :S
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en
Try that? As i remember, it worked for me
(I'm sure someone will correct me if I am waaaay off with my suggestion )

I just can't think of anything else to do.
You can always use http://www.ebuddy.com if you already have a email address.
Same features of msn and everything.
That is what I would do from there mate.
