I personally think that there should be level restricted tournaments allowing those who are not as good at the game as others the chance to win a tournament too. Now imnot saying this for my benefit but much for those that want to win and cant.
Does anyone ele agree with me?

I take it you mean based on rank points?
It would be good, but a problem could be if higher skilled players purposely lowered their rank, or reset their stats in order to play the 'lower skilled' tournaments just so they could win.

yeah, pros will lower their rank. it took me something like 9 or 10 months to get to my first final and 11 months to win my first tournament.

honestly the tournaments shouldnt be leveled then people will sandbag (loose on purpose) and win all the lower level tournaments but unless they could a stop to where you cant sandbag it would be a great idea

it would only work if two things came in
you were not allowed to reset stats. and you would have to NOMINATE ONE account per IP address.
stopping the reset may work, but it would be too hard to stop people making more accounts unless they nominated one account per IP. but some brothers and sisters; husbands and wives share the same computer for two accounts legitmatley.

Yeah that's what happens with me, there's two people (including me) in my house who play this game, sometimes at the same time.
We both got to the 8ball final yesterday, and I lost.
And I haven't heared the end of it!

no not in my opinin as i think its more fun if theres more lower ranked players get mixed in with in the top players.

Exactly. And it does often happen that a lower-ranked player wins a tournament. Even the marathon tournament was won by a player whose ranking was low but played so monumentally and took one or two huge scalps along the way, including someone over 200 points ahead of him, that a forum thread was created about it: http://www.funkypool.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=14541

The only way i can see you doing it is having higher tier and lower tier torneys and let them be seen as such on your profile so people wont just try to win them to bump their amounts up. And say after 10 lower tier wins you get stopped from playing in them.

Too many fake newbies about it would never work

True. They would abuse it and it would never serve those it would be meant for.

That has to be a contender for truest and most insightful post of 2009.........
.............having reset himself 4 minutes earlier and again 35 minutes later!!
I will look forward to confirmation that grizzlies do go to toilet in wooded areas and that the Pope is indeed a Catholic.
