1. In real life, I reckon they just smash the pack open as hard as they can because pocketing 2 balls in 1 shot is legal.
2. True if you clear the table each time you are likely to win the game.
3. Exactly my point. So I'm guessing you're disagreeing with peace there.
Cheers for quick response.

I think point 1 is the same in funkypool and real life, in that you want to open the rack gently, initially freeing just a few balls (a bit like snooker).
However, even very good players don't manage to clear the whole table often.
The top 50 pot success is just over 80%, which means the average run is just over 4 before missing 1. (That statistic is a bit low because it counts safety play, but I haven't seen *so* much safety that it would alter it that much).
If you clear the table each time you come in play I'd say you are at least 95% sure to win the match. Therefore the luck element has to be lowest of all the games.
I disagree that allowing 2 balls will help skillful players over hit'n'hopers. Potting a ball accidentally should never happen to a skillful player, and happens more often for people who smash the balls. The aim of straight pool is to benefit those who can pot and control.

Im not sure thats correct from the rules that clooneman, for one, has posted in this forum. I think we all read it that as long as the ball you attempt is potted then any additional balls going in dont cause the end of the run. Hence why the idea, as walker666 states, is to leave yourself such a position on the last ball that you can open the pack out as wide as possible to increase your chances of continuing your run and if a supplementary ball goes then theres no problem.
Having said all that we have to accept we are subject to the limitations of the funkypool gameplay in that it cannot interpret your intention when you play a shot. I dont think there is a solution that will appease everyone. Nomination is the only way to get a realistic interpretation of the game and to solve all these disputes outright, however that is unpopular with many and is not going to happen as nick has stated before.
Therefore I guess it continues as is

True, there isn't a way that the game can interpret your intention. Plus, with all the things that have been said on this thread, that is why I, as I expressed on page 1, have for now resigned myself to the fact that the anti-2-ball rule (or whatever it's called ) is here to stay.
