True, and it has happened.

"Google Inc. has named five-year company veteran Dennis Woodside as its new Vice President for Americas Operations, replacing the outgoing Tim Armstrong.
Woodside, who since September 2006 served as the company's Vice President for the U.K., Ireland and Benelux, will oversee teams the Internet giant's effort to sell search, video and graphical ads that appear on the company's Web properties."

SAN FRANCISCO -(Dow Jones)- Google Inc. (GOOG) has named five-year company veteran Dennis Woodside as its new Vice President for Americas Operations, replacing the outgoing Tim Armstrong.
Among others articles. And guess what - Woodside is replacing Armstrong in his role as head of American Operations, meaning... Woodside himself is being replaced as VP over the UK, Benelux and Ireland! Matt Brittin will be over the UK, whilst Ireland and Benelux will have their own directors.
