Fouled? The opposing player can move the white anywhere behind the line. He may pot any ball using his first shot carry. He can play up table.

Fouled on the black? Two shots. If you don't like it, don't foul.

Potted the black on the break? It's a re-rack. Pot the black on the break in pub pool? You lose.

Pot a yellow on the break? You may nominate reds. Whichever ball you hit first on your following shot is the balls you'll be playing.

These are the main rules I play in the local pubs and Rugby club I play for. If some douché came up and suggested a different set of rules he'd be a laughing stock. It just doesn't seem right to change anything.

Wot rules r these then as i know theres 4 sets and these seem a mix of 2 of the four i know

These two don't resemble anything from any official rulesets lol. First ball you hit? Blackball rules it's first ball potted after break, world rules is nominate, but if one of the nominated balls hasn't been potted then you must pot one of that set. Think old EPA is just straight nomination regardless if a ball was potted, that right about old EPA Steph? Haven't played them in years lol.

Random local rules i'm guessing, they change everywhere from my experience. I always played one way growing up, then when I went elsewhere to go to college, completely different rules.

First off there is only 4 sets of rules that have oficially been released.

Old EPA (obsalete) But still played by many pool leagues and most well known as pub rules with the odd variation.

World Rules (EPA) offcial rule set, played at world chapionships.

Bapto (British association of pool table oparaters) Fastly dieing out but still about just.

Blackball Rules (EBA) (relesed in 2006)
Have not caught on as much as hoped but a lot of bapto players have moved over to them.

You only nominate your color in old epa if you pot both colours when decideing colours.

The Break
if you pot the black in any rule set then it is a re-rack and same player breaks with no foul.

Old EPA first ball potted is your colour.

World Rules: if you pot both colours you choose which you want.
If you pot a red you can choose yellows but have to pot a yellow on your next shot. if you choose red (which you potted) you are on red.

Bapto you break and then choose what colour you want even if you foul.

Blackball: you break and table is still open even if you pot. your next ball potted is then the colour you are on.

Well ill quite happily push it up to 5 then and count old Fed rules. Thought it was same to old EPA. It was used by the EUKPF i believe, when the break nominated what balls they would like even if they didnt pot and even if they went in off on the break.

EUKPF re-named itself EBA with the introduction of the blackball rules. The idea was to get all organisations to worl together so we would only have 1 offcial set of rules but the EPA have refused to take any part of it and so we still have a split in the rules.

who really gives a stuff about these stupid organisation rules?

I abide by the rules known as the Funkypool rules.

At the end of the day, as long as I come on here, play a few friends, boost my ranking a little; then I dont give a stuff about what some pool association says.

The current rules are fine. They are fair to everyone! No onw is greatly disadvantaged becasue the rules arnt 'European' or "world" standard.

Sorry for being so blunt, but a few of you guys need to get over it. Its a FUN pool site. Not like we play for millions of dollars!
