8 Ball UK Ranked - 2oo2 (1) loses to deano75 (1) who potted the black on a golden break!!

5th one done to me since i hit 900 ranking.
Black potted from break should result in a re-rack, not in a 4.7 point drop.

And take away everyone's achievements in stats of a golden break...its just luck of the other player I'm sure you've done it to a few and not thought it was wrong...

Its UK pool, golden breaks are 9 ball only, anybody who knows anything about pool knows that. Struggling to make a decent ranking cus everytime i get somewhere someone slaps ' golden break' andleavesme having to win 10 in a row to get the rank back.

There's alot of rules that are different from the mandatory rules,that's what makes it fun, and challenge set aside form normal rules,

there's the link read through them and tell me you'd like to see some of those rules implemented into funkypool, i for one wouldn't like to see some of them crop up, i was looking for a rule regarding potting the black on the break and couldn't find it, as far as i was aware even before i started playing on funkypool, that if you potted the black on the break without scratching it was a legitimate shot.

Back in the day, when the black was potted from the break on this websiteit was a rerack, not sure why it changed.

Break shot

A legal break shot requires the breaker to hit into the rack and make contact with at least 1 ball. If the 8 ball is potted from the break, it is known as a golden break, and the breaker will win the game. If the cue ball is potted from the break, then the opponent has two shots from behind the line.

The choice of reds or yellows is determined the moment a colour is first potted. If a player pots both colours at the same time then the table is still open. The choice of colours is determined the first time colours from 1 group are potted.

If you break and clear up without the opponent receiving a shot, then you are awarded a run out.

I agree - when I get a golden break I'm proud of myself.

And when someone gets one against me it's just the way it goes in my opinion, even if it can be rather annoying.

The only thing I would change about Golden Breaks is the ranking points lost for the opponent. Golden Breaks aren't easy to achieve, and that would be totally unfair on those who managed them.

Say I was playing rogan (just cause he's above), and he managed a GB in a ranked game against me. He would get the (+1.7) pts or whatever, while I would drop, say (-1.5) pts. I would change my drop to (0.0), as I didn't get a chance in the game.

I would say the same for runouts. It's all fine, apart from the loser dropping pts.

I think that would be a pretty reasonable compromise Yoda.

As I see it, the person who achieves the golden break should be rewarded but the 'victim' shouldn't be punished as much / at all because there is nothing they could have done about it.

You only dropped 4.4 points...that's totally different...no basis for your argument now as anyone can win 9 ina row..so just do it

In real games a black of break is a re-rack i can see his argument for 8uk (only cause i play 8uk)

But people Have to relise what this website is called its funky! which make's ''funkypool'' which makes funky rules lol

Just my luck talking about GB's on Uk I just got one which made me proud I wouldn't say ''I want a rerack''
