Maybe I'm not the person to ask, but I did a quick google of the "Sysinternals Bluescreen Screen Saver" and all the links have basically said that it is a joke screen saver?
It certainly got me even more confused than when I first looked at this thread... *confused smiley*
Oooh!!
I'll tell you one thing I DO know. The Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) comes up after a major system failure (it unfortunately happens to me every 1-2 days so I'm almost an expert ) and it shuts your system down automatically to save damage to your system. The fact that this has SCREEN SAVER in the title makes me think. The BSOD is a system saver not a screen saver.
Also, how can a virus be copyrighted??
"Copy right 1998-2004 mark russonvich"
*Hides from Spinner as my post is ripped to shreds*
EDIT: *Rolls eyes* - The title is "Screen saver" which makes me think it is a screen saver and not a virus. Me thinks it would be perfectly safe to remove.

cuegod ya can't just say its safe to remove a system file, thats why these things hide in the system files because they think they are safe, it is safe to delete it but i would let your antivirus delete it as then the antivirus removes the partitions rather then all the things linked to it, if a system file is deleted everything that is attached to it gets severed which then causes other things to be destroyes too, that is why a virus can control all your pc, it gets into our system and corrodes it all so you need antivirus to check its not a threat, if it's a threat then it will be removed, if it isnt then i suggest leaving it, it will cause more problems then its worth

Surely deleting a virus is good anyway?

mate i am a computer engineer, i fix computers, i run computers, i look after computers, u get my drift lol, how can you be sure its a virus, thats why i'm saying let the virus scan check it mate, the last thing you wan is to be deleting it and then the next time you try to get you computer on you get a black screen saying system error, press f1 to reboot and then it reboots and you have the same prob again, just be on the safe side mate, if it doesnt cause you a prob then don't delete it, better yet system restore to before you got it, that way you sort two probs in one

yes, viruses are a bunch of codes that interfere with the codes on your computer system, in a matter of fact the virus isnt the thing thats copyrighted, when you create a website like this you add a load of coding and the finished effect is the website, well a virus works in the same way, someone makes coding and the finished project could be a screensaver or an antispyware or maybe even a program, they just shove the copyright info in the coding to trick you, they want to keep it on your system for as long as they can, the longer its on the more data they are collecting or destroying?!
