Well... they all started disappearing when I showed up. At that moment in time, I smelt a rather disgusting smell... Of course, being a rat I get home from school in the sewers. It must've been a particularly bad day. So I got home (covered in who-knows-what) and my pet hamster died as I walked into the room (from natural causes apparently)

Anyway, in conclusion, I do not know who they are running from
