Just read that the now. Crazy stuff for 1am. Obviously the sacking Ramos part wasn't a shock but to have a manager in place already?!?!

what gets me is when a team contacts a player from another club they often get fined for tapping up that player, surely spurs have been sorting this out during this week or the portmouth board agreed to letting spurs talk to redknapp

Quote from BBC Sport:
"Redknapp revealed Spurs contacted Portsmouth on Friday morning, and after discussions between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie, it was agreed he could talk to the London club."

I imagine Portsmouth just doing the noble thing and not standing in the way of what Redknapp wants to do.
Has he pushed Portsmouth as far as they can possibly go after winning FA Cup and leading them into Europe?

Redknapp was a great choice - he's got a proven track record in rescuing teams on the brink, and he's in early enough to turn Spurs around completely.
I'm gutted though. I always thought the reason he didn't leave for Newcastle was more a distance issue than a loyalty one, what with his love of the south coast - so it looks like that might have been true; Tottenham is commutable. But he did a great job for Pompey, and I hope he does well with Spurs.

Listening to sky sports the Mr Portsmouth man (His sir name was Westwood?) was furious and rightly so I think. He has stabbed them in the back yet again as he rightly pointed out.
Sam Allardyce has said he is very interested in taking over at Portmsouth but Tony Adams is currently the favourite to get given the appointment full time. He is currently caretaker coach with Joe Jordan.
All from Sky sports

I'm shocked and gutted at Redknapp leaving. I always liked Portsmouth after they avoided relegation a few seasons ago when they brought back Harry. But for him to just leave like that...it's just disgraceful and sad. I wont be surprised if he gets a hounding when Spurs play Pompey this season.

I agree. Players and fans will have been waking up to this and finding out they didn't have a manager for today's game. I feel real sorry for them, they don't deserve that sort of treatment. He has let down the whole club.

It wasn't done behind the club's back or anything. They are gaining £5m from it and obviously decided to cash in. They allowed Redknapp to talk to Tottenham.
It's sad for the fans but this sort of thing happens, think of a similar situation but outside the business of football and it won't seem as if anyone has done a bad thing here.
