well i can only think of the jam as the band, so paul weller as the soloist......dont know much of his solo stuff to be honest, but a platform for anyone else??

sorry tids thats not it. he first recorded it with the jam. but sometimes still performs it solo. maybe my first clue was misleading as it is listed as a jam track.
