The main change is that the table can increase to a much larger extent. People on large resolution monitors will notice a difference. The downside is that the larger the game screen the more processing power is required. However if you think the game is running slow due to the increased size you can simply resize the game window.
There are also some optimisation changes to the US balls to improve the rendering speed plus slightly improve the us ball graphics.
There's a few other changes related to the practice games.
First, when you enter a game room the practice game changes to the same as the corresponding game type eg enter a US 9 ball game room and the table changes to be the same. Also the options to change practice games are not available when you are in a game room. It's not intuitive that you change the game type but the underlying game is different.
Also the stats for the practice game are shown by default. 9 ball keeps track of what ball you're on to help newbies and replaces the 9 ball if not pocketed legally so you can practice the game in full.

Great work Nick, you can really notice the difference!

When i try to find out where someone is i click on there profile and it only says the name of the game not the game type

Agreed... It makes it harder to look for people without PM'ing them while they're playing :(

Thanks, that's been fixed now.

Emm... What if, when waiting for your opponent to enter the UK tourney game room, you prefer to practice with the US balls cos they're smaller and harder to pot?

No longer possible, I'm afraid. Game rooms are fixed to the same game type as the game.

sorry but i don't like it, why did it have to be changed, if im waiting for a 9ball invite and im watching a mate in a uk tournament game and it finishes, I like to carry on chatting to them while i practice for 9ball, as it is if i want to practice I've got to leave my mates and go practice elsewhere.

I have to agree with ab. It seems to be a step back rather than a step forward because it reduces an option

When
1) you want to watch an 8 ball UK tournament game
2) and the game finishes
3) and you want to keep chatting to friends
4) but you're in a 9 ball tournament and want to practice 9 ball
you will have a problem
However, a much more common scenario for members is
1) click quick match
2) see they have chosen the wrong game, so click another game from the simple options
3) game changes automatically when someone enters
It is a (mostly unused) option less, but it gives an improved indication of the current state of the game.

You can change the more common scenario by just taking a bit of time to search.
You can't change the un-common scenario Unless you talk via PM, which would not be a problem at all if you could talk to more than one person in one PM window, but you can't so it's not really practical.

The problem is it's not obvious, I've watched players who've played 100s of games been confused by this. It might be simple to you and me but even for us the only way to tell what game type we were in before was to look on your profile page or wait for a game to start.
Actually they could easily just continue their conversation in a chat room and choose separate practice games.

I don't know if you have made a bit of a mistake there, but I've always known what game type I'm playing and what game type I'm leaving to go and play, by clicking 'games rooms'. Navigating that little search (using games rooms) surely is not that time consuming for people?
Maybe putting 'games rooms' In big writing at the top of the table would be more beneficial?
Part 2:
That's what I thought until I realised there are other people in those chat rooms, and most players in a group like to have personal chats.

The problem wasn't that you couldn't find out your game type, the problem was it wasn't simple. Searching for your game room on the game menu is a lot of work.
I'm not going to add the option just for people who:
1) want to watch an 8 ball UK tournament game
2) and the game finishes
3) and you want to keep chatting to friends
4) but you're in a 9 ball tournament and want to practice 9 ball
5) and don't wish to chat in the chat room

Well add multi user private chat so that they can be in any room and still be able to have same conversation with all friends in one conversation!

sounds a bit angry there mich but anyway, yes that would be a good idea i think, would make chatting alot easier.
Nice work nice you can really spot the differences

Thats a hell of a lot of people your discounting there
you cant chat in the chat room properly cos its too busy, its rare i speak in there.
Clans like to watch each other, so i find anyway, whilst they are all in tournaments. I guess those people dont matter cos they know there way around the site :/
A multi user PM would solve this problem brilliantly. But if its not a problem to you then i guess it wont
